Hi, I'm Vikas (Vicky) Thamizharasan.

I am a Ph.D. student in the Visual Computing lab at UMass Amherst, advised by Prof. Evangelos Kalogerakis. My research vision is to build intelligent machines that aid artists and novice users in their creative endeavors.

I completed my Master's at Brown University. I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Daniel Ritchie and Prof. James Tompkin. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the IIIT-Hyderabad.

Outside academics, I love climbing (indoors and outdoors), hiking, and playing the drums. In a previous life, I loved painting and dancing.
